WEBINAR on the occasion of NATIONAL DOCTOR’S DAY “AWARENESS PROGRAM ON TRANSPLANT SURGERIES AND ORGANS DONATION”

One of the major medical advances in the present century is organ transplantation. Transplantation of human cells, tissues or organs are medical procedures enable greatly to restore essential functions where no other alternatives of comparable effectiveness exist.  The practise of organ donation and transplantation has been significantly enhanced through medical advancements and research and designing (R&D). Now, organ transplantation has become a life-saving procedure especially the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, pancreas, cornea, including bones, ligaments, etc., and many more.

Although, the lack of organs is essentially a global issue. However, Asian countries including India is considerably lagging among the rest of the world. In our country, Organ transplantation gained momentum in late 1980s paced up in mid 1990s, especially after the Transplantation of Human Organs Act was passed by Parliament in 1994.  The need of hour is to address one among the biggest challenges to bridge the ever-increasing demand and supply gap. Public awareness is key to promote organ donations.

With the paramount objectives to cascade awareness and sharing right information about transplant surgeries and organs donations eventually to help other to lead a healthier, happier, and prosperous life, under Illness to Wellness campaign, ASSOCHAM organized a webinar on “AWARENESS PROGRAM ON TRANSPLANT SURGERIES AND ORGANS DONATION” scheduled on Friday, 1st July 2022 from 11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon.
